Same name, same trade, since January 1981.

DeWald Excavating, Inc. has been digging for Fort Wayne builders and homeowners for 45 years. Kevin DeWald runs it today. In this trade that many years means a lot of people know exactly what they are getting.

The record, from public sources.

We would rather show you what the Better Business Bureau, the DOT and the City have on file than write our own praise.

What 45 years looks like.

Excavating is not complicated, but it is unforgiving. A hole dug to the wrong grade, a tap made without the inspection, a field put in soil that will not take it: every one of those costs someone a lot of money. The way you avoid them is by having done it a few thousand times.

How we work.

  • The owner quotes it.
No sales office between you and the person who knows the work.
  • Our own trucks and equipment.
We are not waiting on a rental or a hauler to show up.
  • The permits and inspections are part of the job, not a surprise.
811, City tap permits, county septic permits and inspections: we tell you what applies before we price it.
  • Light commercial, new residential, and the rural jobs in between.
If we cannot do it well, we will say so and tell you who can.
